Welcome to a place where you will master the essential tools to strengthen your paintings and grow with confidence as an artist so that you can fulfill your dreams and goals of becoming your best painter!

This self-paced, series of videos was created out of a true passion and love for teaching and helping my students bring their work to their highest level possible. I have found throughout my twenty-five years of teaching thousands of students, the number one thing preventing their work from growing to the next level is not a lack of talent or desire, but the need to invest the time to slow down by starting at the beginning to strengthen the FOUNDATION and truly understand the TOOLS OF PAINTING with complete confidence.

In this online series of videos you are able to work at your own pace, fitting painting into wherever you are in life. I tell my students, we don’t find time to paint, we MAKE time to paint.

Each video begins with a lesson plan, followed by a full painting demonstration, then you will paint the instructed exercise. Each comprehensive and approachable lesson builds on the previous one. Once you have worked through each video, you will have learned not how to paint, but to truly understand why and what you are seeing, along a strategy to get you there. Your drawing will improve, your painting will improve, you will understand why it is important to use a halftone palette to create the illusion of light, how to create form with color, and how to make any color in nature using a primary limited palette!

I am excited to help you achieve your painting dreams and goals. Let’s get started!

Happy Painting! Kami

“Kami’s focus is on teaching students how to see, not how to paint, and this makes all the difference! After taking this course, I walked away with answers and a clear path on how to move forward.  I’m excited to paint again!”

“Kami’s targeted exercises are designed to help you think through your entire approach to painting, whether it is a still life or a landscape. I’ve learned to see where color gets lighter/darker, warmer/cooler, more saturated/less saturated, and more importantly, why this happens.”

— Mary, Student

“This Fundamental course has filled in gaps in my knowledge that I didn’t even realize were there. If you are ready to move beyond “how” to paint an object to the “why” behind it, this course is for you.”
