For added flexibility, the curriculum of the original ten-chapter Color Relativity Fundamentals course has also been divided into three individual courses.
These separate purchasing options let students focus on Drawing, Value and Form, or Color. They are drawn from the original complete course, not separate parts you need to buy to assemble it.
Color Relativity Fundamentals: Drawing
Learn the foundational tools of observational drawing, including measuring, proportion, perspective, and relationships.
Color Relativity Fundamentals: Value and Form
Learn to paint in values, understand light and shadow, and see how light reveals form.
Color Relativity Fundamentals: Color
Develop a methodical approach to seeing and mixing color through relationships, with the goal of creating the illusion of light.
Each individual course has its own detailed description, lessons, demonstrations, and exercises.
For the most comprehensive learning experience, I recommend the complete Color Relativity Fundamentals course, studied in its intended progression.

Why I Created Color Relativity Fundamentals
I originally taught these fundamentals in person as a semester-long master class.
Working with students from beginners to advanced painters, I watched their work change dramatically as they progressed through the course.
But what changed wasn't only their paintings.
I watched their confidence grow.
That experience made me passionate about giving painters a strong set of tools they could rely on—not just for one painting or one subject, but for anything they wanted to paint.
I think of these fundamentals as the tools in a painter's tool belt.
Drawing, value, form, and color are not separate from painting. They are tools we use every time we pick up a brush.
Without a strong understanding of these fundamentals, painters can find themselves limited. They may know what they want their painting to do but not have the tools to get there.
My goal with Color Relativity Fundamentals is to give painters those tools—to strengthen their understanding, build their confidence, and equip them to approach anything they want to paint.
